Massage for Musicians

Lucy Allen has experience working with professional and amateur musicians in addressing specific problems in the arms, hands, neck, back, and shoulders. In addition to massage, Lucy is also a singer-songwriter and guitarist (www.lucy-allen.net), performing at coffee shops and festivals.

"Lucy Allen's massage techniques have kept the crippling effects of tendonitis in my left forearm at bay. This has enabled me to continue making a living playing the guitar."
J. Michael King, Piedmont Brothers, blues guitarist

“After having a massage with Lucy, I felt like all of my joints had been oiled. I felt so much lighter that everything I did—composing, performing, and practicing my instrument—went so much more easily.”
Jennifer Cutting, composer, button accordionist, bandleader; Washington Area Music Association Musician of the Year 2005

“While teaching at Swannanoa this past summer my back, which is chronically bad was on the verge of major spasms. Lucy kindly volunteered a massage and she basically saved my butt so to speak. She got me through the week. It was definitely one of the best massages I ever had. Lucy is really gifted and empathic. “
Ernie Hawkins, blues guitarist

“My hands and arms are improving with each visit doing deep tissue massage. Lucy has helped me to continue doing what I love teaching guitar at my music store and performing with my bluegrass band. Thanks for your help.”
Susan Snyder, owner, 5th String Music

“20 years into my musical journey, I'm starting to gain a better understanding of the correlation between body and spirit, in relation to how I feel and perform music. Lucy has helped me better understand this correlation through not only her hands, but her unique ability to create a positive, secure and relaxed massage environment. “
Steffans Hardin, bass player, Steel String Theory
